It is a great example of how communities across a large region have harnessed the energy and resources of local people. It is a great example of how the energy and resources of local people, businesses, corporations and community organisations across a large region have been harnessed to address a key community issue.

The three main operations within Best Chances are connected: by raising the confidence, aspirations, skills and employability of young people and others within the community they will be more able to develop ambitions and the pathways to achieve them (and thus seek financial and/or practical support to achieve them) and be more equipped to develop their own enterprises within the communities in which they live, and thus reinvest their experiences and talents to the benefit of others.

Sometimes, talented young people are held back. Not by a lack of ability or optimism, but by a shortage of resources, support and financial means. This area of the Best Chances offers individual support for talented young people, for whom the prospects of a brighter future are restricted by a lack of equipment, access or money. Best Chances will considering funding across a wide range of activities eg sports equipment, educational resources, university tuition fees, the cost of travel to college.
